At Miranda Frye, some of our jewelry is gold plated. We try to use gold filled and gold Gold plated jewelry has a very thin layer of gold, usually 0.05% actual gold or less bonded onto a base metal such as brass.

At Miranda Frye, we use gold filled when we can and gold plated when gold filled does not work for that piece of gold jewelry. We have tested our gold plating for years to get it right for our customers.

Gold plating can tarnish but at Miranda Frye, we plate up to 30x the industry standard making our jewelry last longer than the competitor. Gold plated jewelry is more affordable as well.
